Alone at last

Well today I have a day at home by myself (o so peaceful) and I have decided to spend it wisely, no not at the washing machine, Ironing board or oven baking for my family - at my craft desk silly! we must get priorities right here lol.
So I started by checking out some challenge sites I love to get the old mojo ticking and the first I found was Clean and simple I love this site as their sketches are ones that you can whip up pretty quick. This is their sketch for this week;
And this is what I came up with,

Can you guess the stamp?... Medallion! I stamped it in Kiwi Kiss and just cut the center piece out, used a flower and brad from the pretties box some chocolate chip ribbon and stamped the greeting from Upsy Daisy stamp set. Well off I go to find some more challenges, will be back later to show you some of them.
Till then

Where did the week go?

Have you ever had one of those weeks were you feel like you have been really busy all week and at the end it feels like you achieved nothing? Well that was my week!
I really wanted to have a go at the Just Add Ink challenge last week but didn't get there in time but decided yesterday I would still have a go... the challenge was to use the colours Chocolate Chip, Barley Banana and Kiwi Kiss, But since I knew I was entering the card I changed the Kiwi Kiss to Old Olive I thought it suited the stems better.

Maybe this week I will get a bit more organized and have a few more things for you to look at.
Till then...

Colour Renovation

Stampin' Up is undergoing a Colour Renovation....
I have mixed feelings about the change because there will be some colours I will dearly miss like Pink passion and Mellow moss.
Here is a list of the colours that will be retired come August 2010
But then WOW take a look at the New colour collection.....

What a new fresh and modern look. The new colours will be available in September 2010,as you see there is some brand new colours plus some past in colours bought back.
Even though the change is not for a few months I would recommend stocking up now on any of the retiring colours you love, as my guess will be as August comes closer it will be a case of while stock lasts.

Lately it seems like all the young girls in neighbourhood are getting married I have two good friends and neighbours who between them have 5 girls and three of them are about to or have recently been married and the rest are in the bridal party.... Don't get me wrong I love a good wedding and so far they have been fantastic and the girls all looked very beautiful.

This is one of the wedding cards I made, this one was for the beautiful Trista and her new hubby Brenden who were married a couple of weeks ago.

Just using basic black and white can make a wedding card look so elegant and classy...
The stamp set was Baroque Motifs and I added some pearls from the Pretties Kit. Very simple but very classy don't you think?

Thanks for looking

Classes or Catch Up?

Each month I try to run a class at my home for some of the local Ladies to get together and have a fun social morning and a catch up that doesn't happen as often as it should.

This month we are making this card pack using the Fifth Avenue stamp set and includes 3 cards matching envelopes and the cute little box to keep them in.

I have chosen to use Brocade Blue, Close to Cocoa and Very Vanilla card stock, ink and ribbon.

This one was my pick out of them I think because I have used the Butterfly from Flight of the Butterfly stamp set and that is my all time favorite stamp set.

Till next time

More pun Fun

Well I was asked about doing pop up cards at a workshop and when I think pop up cards I think Kids and fun, I wanted to make them nice and simple and easy to do, so using the Pun Fun set
again along with some stamps from the Priceless set this is what I came up with.

Not sure if you can see it clearly but the centre picture and the two stars together pop forward when the card is opened.

I have used So Saffron, Brocade Blue and Really Rust card, ink and markers and both size star punches.

Pun Fun

Hi Everyone,

Well how slack am I already... Promising I would be back yesterday with pic's and didn't,
Sorry but was still sorting a few things out on here, but I think I am finally on to it all, so away I go with my first attempt at pic's for you.

You gotta love this Hippo from the Pun Fun stamp set, I think he is so cute... I have also made a couple of pop up cards using this set will put them on tomorrow.

For both cards I stamped the hippo on water colour paper and use my aqua painter and basic grey to colour them, For the boy card I used Sanded background and Hello again stamps, Real Red Brilliant Blue and Green Galore card, Real Red striped ribbon and coloured his bow tie and balloons with markers.
For the girl I used the little flower out of Simply said with Real red and Pink passion card I looove these colours together and white taffeta ribbon, I paper pierced and used my scallop edge punch on both too.
